Studio Grid
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This covers the Studio Grid website. We collect only what you give us — an email to reply to, or payment details handled by our payment provider, LemonSqueezy. We don't sell your data or run ad trackers. Each app and extension has its own policy too.
What this policy covers
This explains what happens to your information when you use the Studio Grid website — browsing pages, joining a waitlist, contacting us, or buying a product. Each extension and Mac app also has its own privacy policy, linked from its store listing.
What we collect
We collect as little as possible, and only when you give it to us:
- When you email or use a form — a waitlist signup or contact form gives us your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, or to let you know when a product ships.
- When you buy — our payment provider, LemonSqueezy, collects your email and payment details to complete the purchase. We never see or store your card number.
Who processes payments
Purchases are handled by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. They handle your payment data under their own privacy policy. Studio Grid only receives confirmation that a purchase was made.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your information.
- We don't run third-party advertising trackers or build profiles for ads.
- We don't email you unless you asked us to — a waitlist you joined, or a reply to your message.
Cookies & consent
We use as few cookies as possible. Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice — these don't require consent. We do not load analytics or any other non-essential cookies unless you allow it, and we never use cookies to track you across other websites or build advertising profiles.
On your first visit, a banner lets you Accept all or choose Essential only. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and nothing non-essential is set unless you opt in. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings button in the bottom corner of the site.
Cookies we may set:
Cookie Purpose Type Duration sg_consentRemembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. First-party. Essential 12 months Site login Set only if you log in or submit a form — keeps the site working and secure. First-party. Essential Session – 14 days Analytics None currently in use. If we ever add anonymous, aggregated usage measurement, it is loaded only after you opt in. Optional (consent) — Legal basis. Essential cookies rely on our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure site. Analytics and any other non-essential cookies rely on your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy Directive), which you can withdraw at any time with no effect on essential functions. We keep a minimal, anonymous record of consent choices (no IP address, no personal data) so we can demonstrate that consent was given.
Your rights
If you're in the UK, EU or EEA, you have the right to ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it
- restrict or object to how we use it
- send it to you, or another provider, in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time — for cookies use the Cookie settings link; for email use the unsubscribe link in any message
Email hello@studiogrid.io and a real person will reply. We'll respond within one month. There's no charge and you don't need to give a reason.
How long we keep things
Newsletter email address — until you unsubscribe, or until you ask us to remove it. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Contact and feedback messages — kept for 24 months so we can follow up and spot recurring issues, then deleted.
Consent record — when you make a cookie choice we store a random ID, the choice, the date, and the version of this policy. It contains no IP address and nothing that identifies you. We keep it for 13 months, which matches how long your choice lasts before we ask again.
Purchase and licence records — held by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Where your data goes
Studio Grid is run from Canada, and the services we use store data in the United States. That means your data is transferred outside the UK and EEA. Each provider below is covered by a data processing agreement with safeguards approved for those transfers.
- Hostinger — hosts the website. EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Cloudflare — runs our newsletter and feedback forms, and the licence server our Mac apps and extensions check keys with. EU–US Data Privacy Framework, plus EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Resend — sends our email. EU and UK Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Lemon Squeezy — payments and licence keys. EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cloud backup (Google Drive and Dropbox)
Some of our apps and extensions can back up your settings and library to your own Google Drive or Dropbox account. This is optional, and it only starts when you connect an account yourself.
- What we access — with Google Drive we request two permissions: access to the files our app creates (drive.file) and a private app folder for configuration data (drive.appdata). We can't see or open any other files in your Drive. With Dropbox, access is limited to the app's own folder.
- Where your data goes — backups travel directly between your device and your cloud account. They never pass through Studio Grid servers, and we can't read them. The sign-in token that connects your account is stored only on your device.
- How to disconnect — disconnect at any time in the app's settings, or remove access from your Google Account (Security → Third-party connections) or your Dropbox account settings (Connected apps). Disconnecting stops future backups. Files already saved in your cloud account stay there until you delete them.
Studio Grid's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the backup feature you turned on. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone.
Complaints
If you think we've handled your data badly, please tell us first — hello@studiogrid.io — and we'll try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection regulator. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU or EEA it's the supervisory authority where you live or work.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
