The synth got a friend. Cascade is a free colour-stacking puzzle you play in the browser: falling blocks, disappearing rows, and a shade ramp that climbs through twenty speed levels. It has no ads, needs no sign-up, and there’s nothing to install, so just press start.

The rules fit in one sentence
As blocks fall, the arrow keys move them and the space bar rotates them, and a completed row bursts and disappears. Every six rows the level climbs and the blocks fall faster. Level 20 is genuinely unreasonable, and we say that with affection.
Eleven shapes, one ramp
Cascade deals from its own deck: monos, dominoes, corners, crosses, staircases, and a U-piece that will test your relationship with the rotate key. Each piece lands in a shade pulled from a seven-step colour ramp, so a healthy board ends up looking like a palette doing its best under pressure. Line a full row with a matching run and the burst pays a bonus.
Why a game?
Because we spent August building Gradient Synth and the momentum refused to stop. Cascade is part of the same free rack: small, fast, browser-native things that are fun first and marketing second. If it steals ten minutes of your afternoon, it has done its job.
While you’re there: the sidebar carries the newest posts from this blog, and the rack links to everything else we make, including Studio Convert for Mac, which is coming soon.
